The "How" Dreamwork Seminars
Exploring working with dreams
through the craft and technique
of Embodied Dreamwork
Overview
Why do we work with dreams? What is the heart of exploring dream consciousness and why does it matter? And if it matters, which it does, what are the how’s of bringing the consciousness of dreams into the consciousness of a dreamer and their world?
In these seminars, we will explore both the “how’s” and the “why’s” of Embodied Dreamwork – as well as ways to bring dreams and dream consciousness into the world.
These seminars are for you if you are interested in exploring:
- Learning, for yourself, how working with dreams in this way works;
- Becoming a dream activist through doing presentations, seminars or dream groups about dreamwork;
- Beginning the process of learning how to become a dreamwork practitioner working with others one-on-one;
- Beginning the process of learning how to become a group facilitator for dreamwork retreats.
These seminars are for you, too, if:
- You already work with dreams and want to explore back-to-the-basics techniques with the context of your experience of working with dreams.
- You work with another mode of dreamwork and want to explore the groundwork of Embodied Dreamwork.
- You work with groups and would like to incorporate working with dreams with your groups.
Sue Scavo
This class is for those who are interested in learning the art and craft of this practice in order to work with others or for their own understanding.
Two “Hows” of Embodied Dreamwork Seminar Series:
Technique and Tools Seminar Series
(See Case Study Seminar Series Description Below)
Embodied Dreamwork is a collaborative process of dreamwork where dreamer and dreamwork practitioner work together to unlock the mysteries and teachings of the dream for the dreamer. Because every dreamer is unique, every dream and dream language is unique to the dreamer. Dreams do not always, well actually rarely, present the deep and profound teachings in obvious ways. Instead, they work with the dreamer through feeling, experiences, surprise, humor, strangeness and even through shock to provoke and evoke feelings, patterns (healthy and otherwise), trauma, healing and the unknown that are inside of us – where we live, how we are stuck, what keeps us stuck and also the way through. We learn best through experience, through the felt, through the dance between our intellect and our unconscious knowing.
Join Embodied Dreamwork Teacher Sue Scavo to learn the “hows” of Embodied Dreamwork. In this monthly seminar, we will be working exclusively with techniques and tools of working with dreams – the keys that open the many invitations embedded in every dream moment of every dream. We will open tools of working with trauma dreams (defining what a “trauma” dream is/can be), with becoming dreams, with shocking dreams, with dreams about receiving love. We will open tools that help to translate the unique language and images of a dreamer’s dream. We will open tools to help work with universal material offered in dreams, ie: mythology, fairy tales, cultural stories and norms. This is an in-depth seminar will explore the roots of where the techniques came from and how we can use and modify them when working with others.
You do not have to have to be currently working with dreamers to participate in this seminar. This is for everyone – for those who are working with dreams, for those who would like to work with dreamers, for those who want to explore the possibility of working with dreamers and for those who simply want to learn more about this way of working with dreams.
Please note: I am also leading a monthly seminar working with specific “case studies” (see below). I will weave the teachings from that seminar with the exploration of the Hows of Embodied Dreamwork. However, you do not need to be in the Case Studies Seminar to take part in this seminar.

Case Study Seminar Series
The heart of Embodied Dreamwork is this – that every dreamer is unique and every dream is crafted/tailored to the dreamer and what the dreamer needs in their journey. This makes this way of working with dreams particularly powerful, unique and so deeply personal. Part of this process of working with dreams is to discover the unique language of dreams for the dreamer and knowing that each dream, even, may have its own particular dialect. This process also creates a challenge around learning (and teaching) how to work with dreams in this way because it is not really possible to say universally what something means when it arises in a dream.
Working with and understanding the theory and the practice of dreamwork is one aspect of learning to work with others. Another aspect is to be with the dreams of dreamers to learn how the dreams work in actuality. In this monthly seminar, Embodied Dreamwork Teacher Sue Scavo will work with “case studies”, to show and explore how to work dreams through the dreams. We will explore this in several different ways:
- Students who are working with dreamers will be invited to bring dreamers they are working with or have worked with (with permission from the dreamers) as examples to study and investigate the how of working with dreams;
- We will work “live” with participant dreams;
- We will work with “case studies” – ie following a dreamer through several sessions to show the different arcs of work.
You do not have to have to be currently working with dreamers to participate in this seminar. This is for everyone – for those who are working with dreams, for those who would like to work with dreamers, for those who want to explore the possibility of working with dreamers and for those who simply want to learn more about this way of working with dreams.
Please note: I am also leading a monthly seminar on the Hows of Embodied Dreamwork (see above). I will weave the teachings from that seminar with the case studies. However, you do not need to be in the Tools and Techniques Seminar to take part in this seminar.
