Follow your story into the unconscious landscape of creativity and dreams. Taught by Award-Winning Author Amy Irvine McHarg & Master Archetypal Dream Analyst/Author/Editor Sue Scavo
TO WRITE VERTICALLY is to cross over the threshold of the story and plunge into the unconscious, the terrain of what is not yet known. Ideas for stories, like dreams, serve as the initial invitation; if we learn to accept, we can enter a realm where great literary works are born. Think of Dante's "Divine Comedy," Coleridge's "Kubla Khan," and Steven King's "Misery."
Most writing workshops teach the craft of writing. But with these two experienced teachers as guides, you will practice the descent into the caverns of the unconscious. There you will learn to feel, not think, your way toward a whole new level of writing and self-understanding, in which both author and characters (fictitious or real), will be revealed.
Join us for two solid days of exercises and processes aimed at taking you gently, and more deeply, into the unknown. Together we will discover the hard-to-access places where your creativity gets thwarted, and learn how to let it loose on the page.
